COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech cross country teams make their way north to Louisville for their third meet of the season Saturday morning, competing at the Live in Lou Classic at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
The men's 8K will begin at 9:45 a.m. CT with the women's 5K to follow at approximately 10:30 a.m. The field of competition for each race will feature more than 40 different programs.
Tech enters the weekend after delivering a pair of top-six performances at the Covered Bridge Open on Sept. 15 in Boone, N.C. The women placed fifth while the men turned in a sixth-place showing.
For the second time in as many races, Helen Pacurariu-Nagy paced the purple and gold on the women's side, clocking in with a time of 17:44.72 to finish 13th among more than 100 competitors. Rookie Makaleigh Jessee placed second with a mark of 18:38.38 while Chloe Wade took third among the Golden Eagles, crossing the finish line at 19:06.75.
The Golden Eagle men were led by McNeese transfer James Hyland for the first time, as the junior finished 19th overall with a time of 25:19.34. Close behind for Tech was veteran Chase Faudi with a mark of 25:25.30 and two-time All-OVC recipient Miceal McCaul, clocking in at 25:51.35.

Following this weekend's race, the Golden Eagles will compete next in Evansville, Ind. at the Angel Mounds Invitational on Friday, Oct. 13.
