KENNESAW, Ga. – Tennessee Tech men's golf looks to build on a second-place finish at The Carolina Cup a couple of weeks ago and continue a strong fall season in The Scrappy at Cobblestone at Pinetree CC hosted by Kennesaw State.
Tech men's golf is back in action after finishing second at The Carolina Cup a couple of weeks ago. The team is fifth in the OVC with an average of 285.9 for nine rounds played so far this season. The Golden Eagles tied for the third-lowest round in the conference during the second round (273) at The Grover Page Classic.
"After a couple of weeks away from tourney play, the boys are ready to get back after it as we enter the home stretch of the fall." Said Head Coach Polk Brown. "Kennesaw's event has always been a great challenge, and we look forward to the opportunity ahead. Excited to keep the solid momentum going."
Haden Maxwell earned his second OVC Golfer of the Week honor of the season and then took home OVC Golfer of the Month after winning two of three tournaments during September. Maxwell won the individual title at The Carolina Cup and the Grover Page Classic to become the first Tech Golfer in 20 years to win back-to-back tournaments in the same season. His second-round 65 at The Grover Page Classic is the second lowest round posted by an OVC men's golfer this season.
