COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech men's basketball freshman Hunter Vick earned the first honor of his young career Monday afternoon, being named the Ohio Valley Conference co-Freshman of the Week.

In his only competition of the previous week, Vick helped lead the Golden Eagles to their first victory of the 2018-19 season, a 79-73 win at home over ULM. In the contest, the rookie tied for the team lead in scoring while playing 35 minutes.

Vick tallied 20 points in the contest on a sizzling 8-for-12 shooting from the field, including a 2-for-4 mark from downtown. He had his mid-range game working well on the night and was 2-for-2 at the charity stripe as well. The guard added three rebounds and two assists on the night.

It marked the second 20-point outing of the year for the Camden, Tenn. native, the most by a Tech freshman since the 2009-10 season. Then-rookie Jud Dillard managed three such performances throughout the year, all coming during the conference slate of the campaign.

The Golden Eagles return to action Wednesday, Nov. 28 when they play host to Winthrop in a 6:00 p.m. CT tilt in the Eblen Center.
