Preston Rector has spent so much time around the Tennessee Tech football program, he may as well bleed purple and gold.

 

His experience with the team, as well as working for previous equipment coordinators Tony Ramirez and Robert Burchfield, made him an easy choice to take over the post.

 

He served as an equipment manager for the Golden Eagles for the 2017 to 2021 campaigns, assisting in gear set-up, maintenance and repair, organizing game day setups, inventory control, recruitment visit displays and loading for away competition.

 

He was the head manager from 2019 to 2021. An excellent student at Tech with multiple appearances on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, Rector earned his bachelor’s of science in exercise science and physical wellness -- emphasis on sports administration -- in December 2021.

 

A Cookeville native, Rector played for the Cookeville High Cavaliers from 2014 to 2016.
