Golden Eagle tennis team at Louisville Invitational Friday-Sunday


COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech tennis team had some succeess two weeks ago at the Southern Intercollegiates, and this week coach Kenny Doyle's team will look to notch even more victories when it competes in the Unversity of Louisville Fall Invitational. Play will take place Friday through Sunday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center and feature players from 13 schools.

In addition to the Golden Eagles and host Louisville, teams in the draws include Arkansas, Austin Peay, Bluefield State, Campbellsville, Chicago State, Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky, Morehead State, Murray State, West Alabama and Youngstown State. First round doubles action will begin Friay at 9 a.m.

Tech will send two players into the fray in the Flight "A" singles draw. Senior Syrym Abdukhalikov will battle Adam Taylor of Murray State while sophomore Alejandro Augusto is paired against Sergui Muresan of Chcago State.

Flight "B" singles includes Ezequiel Gils and Vasily Eremeev for the Golden Eagles. Gils will meet Kevin Deligny of Morehead State, while Eremeev is slated to play Jeffrey Brown of Louisville.

Augusto and Abdukhalikov will team up in the Flight "A" doubles draw, and will open play against Meresan and Mario Noboa of Chicago State. In Flight "B" doubles, Gils and Eremeev meet David Clifford and Deligny of Morehead State
