COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Golden Eagles were on the field Friday morning in full pads for the first time during fall camp. The team went through two-and-a-half hours of practice on Overall Field. Tech will practice in full pads again Saturday, then hold its first scrimmage on Sunday at 5 p.m.

Back The Golden Eagles Business Plan on sale

While the team was knocking helmets in Tucker Stadium, the ticket sales crew continues knocking on doors around the region with an opportunity for area businesses to support the Golden Eagles and save money.

And businesses are opening the door to the opportunity.

For the sixth straight year, the Tech Athletics Department is offering businesses in the area its special “Back the Golden Eagles” season ticket plan, an offer that provides the greatest savings available for the 2010 Golden Eagle season.

With the “Back the Golden Eagles” plan, any business may purchase a block of 10 season tickets for $200. That’s a cost of just $20 per season ticket, or just $4 per individual game ticket – a savings of nearly 50 percent.

Last year, close to 80 businesses took advantage of the offer and purchased “Back the Golden Eagle” ticket plans. Click here to view a list of the business that purchased 2009 "Back the Eagles" season ticket packages.

“The ‘Back the Golden Eagles’ business plan not only offers the best deal possible, it also gives each area business a wonderful chance to support the Golden Eagles,” says Mark Wilson, TTU Director of Athletics. “This is an inexpensive way for a business to provide game tickets to its employees and their families, or to clients or customers, while supporting Tennessee Tech athletics and Golden Eagle football under coach Watson Brown, all at the same time.”

Each business that purchased the plan last year is being contacted about renewing the package, and new business contacts are being made daily. Any area business wishing to purchase the “Back the Golden Eagles” business plan should call the Athletics Ticket Office at (931) 372-3940.

Each business purchasing the plan also receives a handsome plaque to be displayed in their location. A list of businesses purchasing the 2010 "Back the Eagles" business plan will also be published on TTUsports.com.

The Golden Eagles open the 2010 home season on Thursday, Sept. 16, with a non-conference game against Lane College, the first of five home games in Tucker Stadium. After the opener, Tech hosts four consecutive OVC games against UT Martin (Sept. 30), Eastern Illinois (Oct. 16), Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 13) and Jacksonville State (Nov. 20).

Tickets can be purchased at the Athletics Ticket Office in Eblen Center weekdays from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (closed noon to 1 p.m.), or by calling (931) 372-3940. Tickets are also available online at TTUsports.com.
