Note: Each week, the TTU Sports
Information Staff will dig into the school's rich Photo Archives
and publish a photo from the past. Some of the photos will include
identification, but sometimes Tech will ask for viewers' help in
identifying the people shown in the photo. To submit missing
identification or comments about the photos in this series, send an

Featured this week: This photo is from
1973, 1974 or 1975, when these two players were on the Golden Eagle
roster. Quarterback Gary Perdue (18) and receiver David Quay (89)
don the headphones to talk to the coaches in the press box at
Tucker Stadium.
Perdue wrapped up his career in 1976 ranked second (at the time)
in total offense and first in passing yards, leading the team in
both categories in all four seasons. Today, 34 years later, Perdue
is still fifth in total offense with 4,180 yards. He is seventh in
passing with 3,053 yards. He was named first-team all-OVC in
1975.
Quay, meanwhile, led he Golden Eagles in receiving all three
seasons he was on the roster in 1973, 1974 and 1975. He finished
his career with 73 catches for 1,053 receiving yards.
With that pair helping lead the offense, coach Don Wade's teams
compiled a 16-16-1 overall record in those three seasons,
culminating in 1975 with an 8-3 overall record and a 6-1 mark on
the way to winning the OVC Championship.
