Slade Adams named to preseason FCS All-America team

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech offensive guard Slade Adams has been recognized with selection as a preseason All-American. Adams, a sophomore from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., was the only offensive player from the Ohio Valley Conference named to either the first or second team. Four OVC players were listed on the defensive second team.

The Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) team was selected by the website Consensus Draft Services.com.

After spending the 2008 season as a redshirt, Adams moved into the Golden Eagle starting lineup last season and was an anchor in the offensive line, starting all 11 games and earning second-team all-OVC honors.

Outstanding at both pass protection and run blocking, Adams returns in 2010 for his second season in the lineup.

The son of Steve and Sharon Adams of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., he is majoring in accounting. He is a 2007 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School where he was a first-team Class 4A all-state selection.

Adams and the Golden Eagles open the 2010 season Saturday, Sept. 4, at Arkansas.
