GETTING TO KNOW CHAD ZINCHINI
Chad is a junior punter for the Golden Eagle football team. After the Jacksonville State game, he received honorable mention for the top punters in the nation from College Football Performance Awards (CFPA). Following his school-record effort at Tennessee State, when he averaged 52.6 yards per kick, Zinchini was named by CFPA as the FCS National Punter of the Week.
Chad enrolled at Tech a year ago and
spent the 2011 season as a redshirt...was the team’s punter
during 2012 spring drills and showed tremendous potential...ready
to make his collegiate debut this fall and looks to be the heir
apparent to the punting duties. BEFORE TECH: Following a successful high school career, Chad originally enrolled at Middle Tennessee State in the fall of 2009 and was planning to join the Blue Raider roster as a walk-on...a foot injury just before reporting to fall camp sidelined him...left MTSU after one semester and spent the next year-and-a-half at Vol State Community College. AT TECH (In 2011): Chad was on the Golden Eagle roster but sat out the year as a redshirt. HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Beech High School in Hendersonville...punted for the Buccaneers in his freshman and senior seasons for coach Anthony Crabtree...played four seasons on the golf team...named All-Region 6-5A as a senior when his team won the district and regional titles and advanced to the third round of the TSSAA playoffs. PERSONAL: The son of Michael and Lisa Zinchini...birthdate is January 9, 1991...born in Butler, Pa...full name is Chad Anthony Zinchini...majoring in interdisciplinary studies with concentration on business and communications. |
