2022 (Freshman): Merkley took part in three of Tech's six fall events… made her collegiate debut at the Golden Eagle Invitational (Sept. 16), turning in a season-best 6K of 25:33.7… tallied a PR in the 5K of 19:25.0 at the Chattanooga Invitational (Oct. 14). 

High School: Merkley competed at Wilson Central High School in Mt. Juliet, Tenn., lettering four times in cross country for coaches Daniel Wild and Sarah Morrison and lettering once in track & field for head coach Jonathan Booner… qualified for state individually all four years in cross country… led WCHS to its first appearance in the state championships in program history as a sophomore… set the Wilson Central program record in the 5K with a PR of 19:15.7 as a senior… named to the All-MidState Team as a sophomore.

Personal: Daughter of Keri and Roy Merkley… born in Macomb, Ill. on March 26, 2004.

Academic: Majoring in psychology with a concentration in child and family trauma informed care… named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll twice and the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll once.
