Following a standout four-year playing career with the Golden Eagles, Carter remains with the team in 2009 as a graduate assistant coach.
Carter, whose best season with Tech came during her junior season when she compiled a 26-10 record, will be assisting with both the men's and women's teams throughout the season.
A Winchester, United Kingdom native, Carter, 24, spent two years on the WTA Tour and was ranked as high as 451 in the world last spring after racking up 68 wins during her playing days at TTU.
Carter served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Golden Eagles following her playing career and spent the past year coaching in England.
An environmental biology major with a French minor, Carter is now working toward her master's degree in environmental biology.
