2024 (R-Freshman): Schroeffel developed into a crucial piece to Tech’s defensive puzzle, starting the final 12 matches of the year after appearing in only 30 combined minutes over the first eight matches…in fact, played in 1,055 out of a possible 1,100 minutes in those 12 matches, sitting for only 45 minutes throughout the stretch…attempted three shots, with one on-goal…helped lead Tech to five shutouts on the year, including playing all 90 minutes in a 2-0 win over Lindenwood in the regular-season finale on Oct. 27 that clinched Tech’s third consecutive OVC regular-season crown…appeared in all 110 minutes in a match that was scoreless through double overtime in the OVC Tournament semifinals vs. Morehead State on Nov. 7.

2023 (Freshman): Schroeffel did not play during the 2023 season.

High School: Schroeffel suited up as a defender for four years at West High School in Knoxville, Tenn…was a four-year All-District recipient…took home All-Region accolades three times…named a two-time team Defensive Player of the Year…helped lead team to 2022 district championship…serving as a defender still managed to scored 12 goals throughout her career…academically, was a member of the Dean’s List.

Club/ODP Experience: Schroeffel was a member of FC Alliance ECNL 05’.

Personal: Daughter of Scott and Margie Schroeffel…born May 10, 2005…comes from an athletic family with mother Maggie playing collegiate tennis at the University of Tennessee from 1994-98 and father Scott played baseball at UT from 1994-96…uncle Will played football at Illinois, grandfather Bill Lepsi played football at Southern Illinois and grandfather Jack Schroeffel played football at Duquesne…full name is Samantha Leigh Schroeffel.

Academic: Majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
