Katherine is a very strong competitor in track and has already had a major impact in the pole vault by establishing a new school record...brings a strong can-do attitude into her college career...a pole vaulter who will challenge the Tech record book every time she vaults.

AT TECH (In 2010-11): Katie competed in the pole vault during the indoor track season...set the all-time indoor school record in the event with a vault of 10 feet, 0 inches at Middle Tennessee State, beating her previous best by two inches...was named OVC Female Field Athlete of the Week on Feb. 15, following her then-record-setting pole vault of 9 feet, 8 inches at Sewanee...earned the award for the second consecutive week on Feb. 15 following her 10-foot vault at the Middle Tennessee State.

(In 2009-10): Competed in indoor and outdoor pole vault events as a freshman...set a school record in the pole vault at the Vanderbilt Invitational with her mark of 10 feet, 0 inches...she established another indoor season record with her mark of 9 feet, 6.25 inches in the pole vault event at Sewanee.

HIGH SCHOOL: Katherine comes to the Golden Eagle squad from Anderson County High School...qualified for the state meet in each of her four years...achieved honors as the state runner-up in the pole vault during her junior year.

PERSONAL: The daughter of Wally Lowery and Cindy Border...birthdate is January 16, 1991...full name is Katherine Summer Lowery...majoring in pre-physical therapy.
