Elisa hopes to make her mark in the 400 meter dash at Tech...competed in a variety of events during her prep career but will focus on the 400 in collegiate competition.

AT TECH (In 2010-11): Elisa competed in the 60 meter dash, 200 meter and 400 meter during indoor track season and ran the 200 meter and 400 meter in outdoor season as a freshman...was named Most Improved among all Tech track and field athletes...posted a season-best time of 28.25 in the 200 at Tennessee State and ran a season-best 1:02.08 in the 400 at the OVC Outdoor Championships, cutting her previous best time by a full second.

HIGH SCHOOL: Elisa competed in both cross country and track and field at Station Camp under coaches Bob Frech and Alan Schoenbachler...competed in sprints and long jump...set five school records, establishing marks in the long jump and 200 meter dash individually and teaming up to break records in 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays...team won two county championships...4x800 relay team was TSSAA state champion in 2009 and 2010...also helped capture the 2010 cross country regional title.

PERSONAL: Elisa Christine Tanksley is the daughter of John and Elizabeth Tanksley...born October 1, 1991...studying conservation biology at Tech.
