Track & Field

Traci looks to bring the same persistance and enthusiasm from her first two seasons into her junior year of competition...participates during the cross country season, and will compete in relays during the spring track season...played soccer in high school...also a dedicated performer in the classroom...named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll four times to honor her academic performance.

AT TECH - (In 2010-11): competed in six meets during the fall cross country season...placed third for the squad at Furman with a time of 20:43...best time of the season was achieved at Evansville, where she was clocked in at 20:29.76.

(In 2009-10): Traci proved to be a strong and consistent runner throughout the fall cross country season, running in all six meets and placing second on the squad in each event...achieved a best time of 20:43.52 at the Tennessee Tech Invitational...her best time in the 800m run came at the Vanderbilt Invitational with a mark of 2:19.58, which is third fastest in Tech history...her best time in the 1,500m run came at Vanderbilt, as well, when she ran that event in 4:59.06.

(In 2008-09): Ran in all seven cross country meets in her freshman year on the Golden Eagle squad...best time was posted at Evansville, where she came in with a 20:10.96 finish...competed in the 800m and mile runs during the indoor track season...reached a best time in the 800m of 2:35.89 and achieved a 5:55.10 in the mile run, both at Sewanee...participated in the 800m and 1500m runs during the outdoor season...her best time in the 800m was clocked in as a strong 2:24.25 at the OVC Championships...achieved a time of 5:07.15 in the 1500m at the OVC meet.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered four years on the cross country and track teams at South Aiken High School...also lettered on the soccer team and took took "rookie of the year" honors...with her help, the team was the state runner-up in cross country in the 2005 season, and also took second place in the state for the 4X800 competition in 2006...during her time at South Aiken, the cross country team won region championship honors in 2005 and 2006, and the track team was regional champions in 2006 and 2007...was named the MVP twice on the cross country squad...won the National Honor Society award for her achievements in the classroom.

PERSONAL: Traci is the daughter of Ray Jones and Lisa Dixon...born October 21, 1989 in Johnson City...full name is Traci Leigh Jones...majoring in pre-vet.
