Meagan is one of two former Golden Eagle basketball standouts
who are finishing up their athletic careers at Tech on the track
team, joining teammate Allison Price...was a stellar three-sport
athlete at Greeneville High School...now in her second year on the
Golden Eagle track squad and her fifth year overall at Tech...named
to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in recognition of her
academic work.
AT TECH - (2008-09): Meagan competed in the 100m dash and hurdles and the high jump during the spring outdoor season...quickly made her mark in all three events...smashed the old school record in the 100m hurdles event with a 14.33 time at the OVC Championships, breaking Carmen Tucker's old record set in 2001...set the squad's best time of the season in the 100m dash at the OVC Championships where she clocked in a time of 12.3...that also stands as Tech's second-best mark in that event in school history...best time in the high jump was set at the Murray State meet with a height of 5' 2.5", which also placed her as the second-best individual on the team in that event, and was the fifth-best mark in that event in Tech history...helped the 4x100 relay team to a school record-setting time of 48.90 at the Murray State meet along with teammates Allison Price and Ifey Eguzo and Emily Weinzetl.
(Prior to track career): Meagan was a standout on Tech's women's baseketball team where she played from the 2005-06 season through the 2008-09 season...played in 120 games and racked up 1,143 points, 283 assists and 473 rebounds.
HIGH SCHOOL: Meagan was a standout athlete
during her four years at Greeneville High School. She won four
letters in each of the three sports she competed in...played as a
guard on the basketball team under coach Lynn Burkey...was named
team MVP during freshman, sophomore and junior years and named to
the all-county team during the same years...helped the Greene
Devils to two district championships during her high school
career...competed on the track team on coach Brad Woolsey's
squad...specialized in sprints...was named best sprinter and best
in field events during sophomore and junior seasons...also named
girls MVP in both sophomore and junior years...assisted the track
quad to two district championships...played volleyball as a hitter
for coach Cindy Kelley...during freshman year won all-district,
all-region and all-conference honors...during senior year, won
all-district and all-conference honors.
