Track & Field

Sarah is now in her senior season on the Tech squad and is a true competitor in relays and the high jump...she has the ability to post some solid numbers in the high jump, an event where she enjoyed tremendous success on the high school level and finished among the top eight in the state two years in a row...also a solid student in the classroom...a four-time selection of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in recognition of her academic efforts.

AT TECH - (In 2009-10): Sarah competed in the Vanderbilt, TTU and OVC cross country meets in the fall...best time was reached at the TTU Invitational, where she was clocked in at 23:47.57.

(In 2008-09): Sarah competed in the high jump during the indoor track season, and achieved a height of 4 feet, 5 1/2 inches at the Sewanee meet...that tied her with her teammate holding the same first name, Sarah Smith, for the team-best mark of the 2009 track season...also participated in the high jump and 400m dash during the outdoor season...her height of 5 feet, 1/4 inch at the OVC Championship meet in the high jump marks a career-best performance...she earned a best time in the 400m dash of 1:08.15 at the TSU meet.

(In 2007-08): Ran in one cross country meet during the fall as a conditioning run...posted a time of 14:53 at the 2-mile Chattanooga Invitational...competed in the high, long and triple jumps in the spring indoor track season...achieved a best height of 4 feet, 10 1/4 inches in the high jump at the OVC Championships...reached a career-best distance of 14 feet, 7 3/4 inches in the long jump at TSU...she earned another career-best performance with a distance of 32 feet, 2 3/4 inches in the triple jump at Sewanee...also competed in the high jump and 400m run during the outdoor season...reached a best height of 4 feet, 11 1/2 inches in the high jump at the Purdue meet...achieved a time of 1:05.05 in the 400m, which is another career-best.

(In 2006-07): Sarah ran the 200m and competed in the high jump during the indoor season...career-best 29:38 for 200m came at the OVC indoor meet...cleared career-high 5-feet in the high jump in the Austin Peay outdoor invitational.

High School: A four-year letterwinner on the track & field team at Cookeville High School for coach Bill Wrasman...a versatile prep athlete, she competed in the high jump, 400m, relays, hurdles and mile...also ran four seasons for the cross country team...winner of the team's Best Distance Runner award as a sophomore, and won the Best Field Events honor as a senior...claimed seventh place in the TSSAA state meet in the high jump in 2005 and finished eighth in the state as a senior.
