Rebecca is a strong and very promising student-athlete who is bringing her skills into her second season with the Golden Eagle squad...is capable of making a solid impact on the Tech squad..along with her solid athletic abilities, she is also a outstanding student, having been valedictorian of her graduating class...for her academic efforts at Tech, she has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll three times...also played volleyball in high school.

AT TECH - (In 2008-09): Rebecca competed often in her events freshman season...competed in the weight throw and the shot put during the indoor track season...achieved a best distance in the weight throw of 32 feet, 8 1/2 inches at the OVC Indoor Championships...her best distance in the shot put was 29 feet, 1 3/4 inches...also competed in the discus throw and the javelin throw during the outdoor season...best distance in the discus was at Western Kentucky with a 97 feet, 9 inch performance...achieved a distance of 90 feet, 10 inches in the javelin at Murray State.

HIGH SCHOOL: Rebecca comes to Tech from Knoxville Catholic High School, where she was a two-sport athlete...competed in track under Coach Jason Surlus...named all-region in discus...her longest distance in the event during high school was 98 feet...also played volleyball, in which she was named all-district, all-region, and all-state...she was named valedictorian of her graduating class, and served as a Girls State representative.

PERSONAL: Rebecca is the daughter of Steve and Martha Forbes...born on November 2, 1989...majoring in mechanical engineering...her sisters Rachel and Kathryn are also on the Tech squad.
