In 2010 (Sophomore): Samantha bounced back from
an injury-filled 2009 season by appearing in 36 games, 22 of which
were starts at shortstop...posted a three-game hitting streak
(4/17-4/18) with 4 hits and 3 RBIs during that span...
In 2009 (Freshman): Forced to redshirt
following an ankle injury.
High School: Samantha was as a two-sport star at
Baylor High School where she lettered three years in volleyball and
all four years in softball under coach Kelli Smith...was a softball
state champion in 2005 and region champion in 2006 and 2007...in
her sophomore year, hit .414 with four home runs, five triples, 10
doubles, while scoring 26 runs and knocking in 30 RBIs...only
struck out eight times in 116 at bats...in 2006-07, was named to
the Best of Prep all-city first team and in 2008, was Best of Prep
and all-state.
