Sam is a talented runner who is now in his senior season on the squad...led the team in six out of seven meets as a junior....has been a consistent performer through his first three seasons on the Golden Eagle squad...Sam is proving that he has the potential to climb further into the Tech record book...has run in every meet during his three-year career...named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in recognition of his academic efforts.

AT TECH - (In 2010): Sam consistently proved to be at or near the front of the pack throughout the fall season...finished third on the squadat the season opener at Sewanee...followed up with a team second-place finish at Western Kentucky...led the team in the final four races of the season...achieved a season-best time at Evansville where he clocked in at 26:02.60.

(2009): Sam continued to be a fixture in Tech's lineup during the 2009 season, running in all seven meets and leading the team six times...season-best time of 26:49 came at the TTU Invitational, which ranks among the top 25 8K times in Tech history...also cracked the 27-minute mark in the opener at Sewanee with a time of 26:59.96.

(In 2008):
Sam finished at or near the top of the pack on the Tech squad as he competed in all six meets...best time was at Evansville, where he was clocked in at 26:31.09, which stands as his career record, and as the 13th best finish in school history...he finished first on the team at Vanderbilt, the Tech Invitational, Furman and the Ohio Valley Championships...came in second on the squad at Evansville...also finished third at Sewanee.

(In 2007):
Sam finished near the top of his teammates in nearly every race in his freshman year...finished in second place in the Sewanee Invitational, and came in third in five other competitions. His best time during his first year at Tech was a 27:36 showing at the OVC Championship race.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Earned four letters on the cross country team at Soddy-Daisy High School under coach Kevin Holt and two on the track & field squad for coach Steve Henry...also won four letters in soccer...named all-region in cross country all four years and voted to the Chattanooga Times-Free Press Best of the Preps in 2005 and 2006...named all-district in soccer.
