2023-24 (Junior – Lincoln Memorial): Sells took part in 30 of the team’s 33 games, making 19 starts while averaging 25.5 minutes per game… averaged 8.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game… shot 42.3 percent from the floor, 37.6 percent from distance, and 75.6 percent from the charity stripe… fired career-highs of 28 points, eight 3-pointers, and eight rebounds at Alabama Huntsville (Nov. 17), adding four assists… dished out a season-best five dimes at Carson-Newman (Jan. 31)… posted 21 points on 6-of-9 efficiency from downtown against Newberry (Dec. 2)… scored in double figures 11 times, 15 or more points four times, and 20+ points twice… sunk at least one triple in 19 games, multiple treys in 15 contests, and four or more 3-pointers in five tilts.

2022-23 (Sophomore – Lincoln Memorial): Sells participated in all 35 contests, making 20 starts while averaging 24.1 minutes per game… paced the team with 82 triples… averaged 10.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game… added 24 steals on the year… shot 42.3 percent from the floor, 39.6 percent from distance, and 82.8 percent from the charity stripe… delivered season-highs of 21 points and seven made 3-pointers versus Alabama Huntsville (Nov. 6)… corralled a season-best six rebounds against Virginia Wise (Feb. 22)… dished out a season-high seven assists versus USC Aiken (Nov. 12)… racked up a season-best three steals against Mars Hill (Nov. 26)… scored in double figures 18 times, 15 or more points six times, and 20+ points three times… drained at least one triple in 30 games, multiple treys in 23 games, and four or more 3-pointers in eight tilts.

2021-22 (Freshman – Lincoln Memorial): Sells competed in all 31 of LMU’s games on the year, making 11 starts and averaging 24.9 minutes per game… led the team with 80 triples on the year… averaged 10.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.. shot 44.9 percent from the floor, 40.8 percent from distance, and 85.7 percent from the charity stripe… made his collegiate debut with 13 points and three boards on 5-for-6 shooting at Clayton State (Nov. 12)… dropped a season-high 23 points with six triples, five boards, and season-best four assists against Coker (Nov. 27)… turned in a season-best seven makes from distance while scoring 21 points in back-to-back games against Mars Hill (Feb. 7) and at Virginia-Wise (Feb. 9), adding four dimes in the contest with UVW… hauled in a season-best eight rebounds at Tusculum (Dec. 4)… scored in double figures 17 times, 15 or more points eight times, and 20+ points four times… sunk at least one triple in 27 games, multiple treys in 20 contests, and four or more 3-pointers in 10 tilts.

High School: Sells was a four-year letterwinner at Livingston Academy in Livingston, Tenn., competing as a guard for head coach Jimmy Miller… ended his career as Livingston’s all-time scoring leader with 2,672 points, breaking former Tennessee Tech guard Chase Dunn’s mark… also broke Dunn’s single-game scoring record for LA with 51 points… earned All-State honors as a junior and senior… named All-District First Team three times and picked up District Player of the Year accolades twice… selected as Region Tournament MVP… led Livingston to both a district and region title, as well as a final-four appearance at the state championships… averaged 27.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game as a senior… tallied 27 points, seven boards, and three dimes per game as a junior… averaged more than 20 points per game for his career… tallied 24 games with at least 30 points.

Personal: Son of Tonia and Billy Sells… born in Cookeville, Tenn. on May 12, 2003… full name is William Matthew Sells… older sister, Mackenzie, played basketball at Middle Tennessee from 2012-15… older sister, Marlee, played basketball at Bryan College from 2014-18.

Academic: Majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
