2016-17 (Sophomore – Eastern Florida State College): Duran competed in 34 games, making nine starts and averaging 19.5 minutes… averaged 9.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game… shot 52.7 percent from the floor while knocking down 37.7 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc and 66.2 percent from the charity stripe… recorded a career-high 27 points at Indian River State College (Feb. 15)… posted 26 points while hitting 8-of-10 free throws against Indian River State College (Feb. 1)… corralled a season-best 11 rebounds against Northwest Florida State College (Dec. 11)… totaled 16 double-digit scoring efforts on the year.

Personal: Son of Juana Teresa Duran… born April 8, 1996… full name is Cristain Joan Duran… born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic… mother, Juana, was a member of the D.R. women’s national team… originally committed to Middle Tennessee out of high school and to Chattanooga following his time at EFSJC… was a member of the D.R.’s U-18 national team, which finished third at the U-18 Americas championships in June of 2014… competed with the U-19 national team at the FIBA U-19 world championships in 2015.
