A strong, physical defensive end with good size, Avery has raised his stock throughout his time on the roster...will be in the mix for extensice playing time at the deep outside linebacker/defensive end position...can be a dominant run stopper...excellent work ethic in the weight room.

AT TECH (IN 2013): Avery started the first game of his sophomore season and played in 10 more off the bench...excelled against Cumberland with his first career interception returned for two yards as well as credit for half a quarterback sack...finished the season with 17 total tackles...made season-high three tackles against both Wisconsin and UT Martin.

(IN 2012): Avery saw action in every contest for the Golden Eagles as a redshirt freshman in 2012...made 12 total tackles, three unassisted, and broke up one pass...season-high five tackles came against Eastern Kentucky.

(IN 2011): Rollins spent his first season at Tech working out with the defensive line as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Avery was a two-way starter at Gadsden City High School, as well as handling the long snapper duties for the Titans...four-year letterman and a three-year starter for coach Joseph Billingsley...on defense, he made 90 total tackles including 12 tackles-for-loss and five quarterback sacks...caused two fumbles, broke up five pass attempts and had one interception...helped his team roll to a 10-4 overall record and third round of the Alabama Class 6A playoffs after going 6-1 in conference play...his Titans won three consecutive Region 7-6A titles with Rollins on the field.

PERSONAL: The son of Willie Rollins and Kim Rollins...birthdate is November 28, 1992...has a daughter, Makenzi Rollins.. his full name is Avery Samuel Rollins....majoring in coaching and sport administration.
