A mid-summer transfer from Louisville prior to the 2012 season, Malcolm was a welcome addition who had an impact in the defensive line in his debut season...showed enough promise during the 2012 season and recent spring drills to lift him into the projected starting spot at "bear" defensive end...a mature and veteran player, he will be among the team leaders in his senior season...an extremely agile defensive end who can be a presence in the pass rush...showed his skills in every game last season including starts in the final six games of the year...great feet and skills pose a threat for every offense that he faces...appeared on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll last fall.

AT TECH (IN 2012): Played in every game for the Golden Eagles in his first season on the roster...played a backup role in the first six games and started the last six games on the schedule...racked up 44 total tackles, 13 unassisted, and three tackles-for-loss..had five tackles at Southeast Missouri, and two weeks later posted a career-high eight stops against Jacksonville State...made six tackles vs. Eastern Kentucky and had seven against Eastern Illinois.

BEFORE TECH: After redshirting in 2009, Mitchell appeared in 11 games at defensive end for the University of Louisville over the course of two years (2010 and 2011 seasons)...recorded eight total tackles, including 2.5 for loss, with one of those coming against Ohio Valley Conference member Murray State in 2011...Mitchell also recorded Louisville's only fumble return in 2011 when he scooped up a Connecticut fumble and ran it back 36 yards for a touchdown.

HIGH SCHOOL: A quarterback's nightmare during his prep career at Dunwoody High School, Mitchell helped lead his team to a 12-1 record in his senior campaign, racking up 70 tackles and 10 sacks on the season...that performance earned him a spot on the Atlanta Journal Constitution Top 150 list...also tallied 62 tackles and eight sacks in his junior year under coach James Teter...named Honorable Mention Class 3A All-American by the Georgia Sports Writers Association.
