A flawless student in the classroom, Jared has also been studying the playbook and preparing to man the quarterback position for the Golden Eagles...after a brilliant prep career, he spent his first season on the Golden Eagle roster as an understudy in a redshirt role, and is now prepared to take the reins when the opportunity presents itself...comes into fall camp listed No. 2 at quarterback...a strong-armed passer with uncanny accuracy, he can avoid the run and make things happen when he tucks the ball and runs...great student of the game who understands the Golden Eagle system...good decision-maker.

AT TECH (IN 2012): Jared took a redshirt in his first year on the Golden Eagle offense while learning under veteran quarterbacks Tre Lamb and Darian Stone.

IN HIGH SCHOOL: Jared came to the Golden Eagles with an impressive list of credentials, both on the field and in the classroom...a versatile athlete, he lettered three seasons as quarterback for Tullahoma, and also started three seasons on the basketball team and one year each in baseball as a sophomore and tennis as a junior...helped the Wildcats to the District 8AAA District championship as a junior and quarterfinals of the TSSAA class 5A playoffs...named the District 8AAA Offensive MVP and the team's Offensive MVP, and two outlets named him the Player of the Year in his region...finished his career as the all-time winningest starting quarterback, leading the team to 21 wins in 30 games during his three seasons...completed 54.8 percent of his career passes and threw for 4,485 yards and 38 touchdowns...also rushed for 7,894 yards and 17 touchdowns.

PERSONAL: The son of Jerry and Gwen Davis... was a delegate to American Legion Boys State and spent a week on the Tech campus in 2011...full name is Jared Daniel Davis...born December 15, 1993...majoring in mechanical engineering.
