Doug spent a lot of time on the field in his freshman season, and proved to be a capable performer for the Golden Eagles...strong player who can block, run with the football and catch passes...listed at the top of the depth chart at his position, and could emerge as an important figure in Tech's fast-paced attack...made a smooth transition to the college game and exects to be highly visible in 2012...claimed a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll during the 2011 spring semester.

AT TECH (In 2011): Brought valuable experience from his true freshman season into 2011...saw increased action in all 11 games...good size and athleticism makes him a great combination player at the "W" receiver position (tight end/fullback)...will take on more of a role with the graduation of veteran Charles Stevens...racked up 112 receiving yards on 11 plays...longest catch was 22 yard reception against Maryville College on Sept. 8...had a season high 25 receiving yards that game...made two catches against EIU, SEMO and EKU.

AT TECH (In 2010): As a true freshman, Doug didn't shy away from competition...played in 10 of Tech's 11 contests, missing the SEMO road trip...used primarily to block, he cleared path for the ball carriers out of the backfield...caught four passes for 32 yards...three catches in the game at Murray State...also had two carries.

HIGH SCHOOL: A versatile athlete out of Franklin Road Academy, Doug piled up more than 4,500 yards of offense and 41 touchdowns as a ball carrier, passer and receiver during his prep career...played his sophomore season at St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas, before finishing up his final two years at FRA...helped Franklin Road to the second round of the TSSAA playoffs as a senior, the team's sixth appearance in the state playoffs in 11 years..as a senior, he rushed for 1,508 yards and 16 touchdowns and passed for 447 yards and four TDs...hisjunior season netted 667 rushing, 755 passing and 151 receiving yards...at St. Thomas, he had over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns in just five games...was a first-team All-State pick and the Region Player of the Year on his way to playing in the Toyota East-West Tennessee All-Star Game.
