Before Tech: After red-shirting in 2009, Mitchell appeared in 11 games at defensive end for the University of Louisville over the course of two years...recorded eight total tackles, including 2.5 for loss, with one of those coming against Ohio Valley Conference member Murray State in 2011...Mitchell also recorded Louisville's only fumble return in 2011 when he scooped up a Connecticut fumble and ran it back 36 yards for a touchdown.
High School: A quarterback's nightmare during his prep career at Dunwoody High School, Mitchell helped lead his team to a 12-1 record in his senior campaign, racking up 70 tackles and 10 sacks on the season...that performance earned him a spot on the Atlanta Journal Constitution Top 150 list...also tallied 62 tackles and eight sacks in his junior year under coach James Teter...named Honorable Mention Class 3A All-American by the Georgia Sports Writers Association.
