Originally a receiver, Cory made the move to the defensive side of the ball during spring drills...impressive in his work ethic and histle as a member of the special teams as a redshirt freshman...heads into 2011 projected to play at Renegade linebacker...does all the little things needed to be successful.
AT TECH (In 2010): Cory was a member of Tech's
special teams during his first season in action, and played on
kickoff cover squad...played in six contests.
(In 2009): Cory was a redshirt member of the Tech roster
in his first season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Cory was a two-year varsity starter
for Woodside High School in Woodside, California...as a junior he
was chosen the team's Most Valuable Defensive Back when he had 64
solo tackles, 48 assists, three fumble recoveries, three
interceptions and 12 passes defended...named to the all-county
defensive team...also spent some time as the backup QB and running
back...as senior, he was named team captain, was the starting
quarterback on a CCS semi-finalist team....threw for more than
1,000 yards with 12 touchdowns and rushed for nine
touchdowns,...was the team's second-leading rusher with 823
yards...named San Mateo County athlete of the week, Most Valuable
offensive player for the team as well as all-league and all-Daily
News...also a three-year starting point guard on the varsity
basketball team where he was a team captain and named to all-league
teams both his junior and senior years.
