Jamere worked his way into the starting spot at Bear defensive
end, taking over midway in the 2010 season and starting the final
six games...comes into his senior season listed as the projected
starter at that spot and should be an impact player in the
defensive front...made the move back to defense in the spring of
2010, lining up at his third position in three years after playing
on defense as a freshman and tight end as a sophomore...a versatile
athlete with outstanding size and strength...a physical player who
has worked hard on his technique to make him more effective.....has
also worked diligently to develop his strength...aggressive player
who can be a game-changer...runs well and gets to the ball...a
smart player...proving to be an effective pass rusher and has the
strength to stop the run.
AT TECH (In 2010): After playing in a backup role
for the first five games and showing tremendous promise and
improvement, Jamere moved into the starting spot at Bear defensive
end with an injury to Charlie Seivers...proved more than capable
and started the final six contests...after making seven total
tacckles through the first five games, he had a career-best eight
tackles in Tech's win over Eastern Illinois...had two
tackles-for-loss and recovered a fumble in the win over the
Panthers...blocked a kick at Murray State...finished the year with
29 total tackles and ranked third on the team with 6.5
tackles-for-loss.
(In 2009): Made the move to tight end and was ineffective
addition to the offense...caught seven passes for 57 yards and
scored two touchdowns...two receptions for 26 yards including a
19-yard touchdown at Kansas State...grabbed a three-yard scoring
toss at UT Martin...had two catches for 16 yards in victory over
Southeast Missouri.
(In 2008): Lined up at outside linebacker in his true
freshman season...played in seven games as a rookie...made 10 total
tackles...came up with an interception at Western Michigan,
returning it 10 yards...career-best game was eight tackles against
Central Methodist.
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-sport athlete at Morristown West
High School...honored as an Academic All-State pick in
football...three-time all-conference winner in both football and
basketball...first-team All-Northeast Region selection on the
gridiron after two seasons of second-team honors on the same
list...as a senior playing free safety, he had 83 total tackles
with four QB sacks and four interceptions...also lettered three
seasons on the track & field team, competing in the 400m and
4x400m relay.
