Kedrick brings a good combination of size and speed to the
bandit position...played extensively as a true freshman but missed
all of the 2009 campaign due to an injury...returned to the field
in the spring and was outstanding...made exceptional progress in
returning to form and will compete for playing time in his third
season...shows loads of potential...type of player who will make
big contributions in kick coverage on special teams.
AT TECH -- (In 2009): An injury forced Kedrick to
the sidelines for the entire 2009 campaign.
(In 2008): Kedrick played in all 12 games as a true
freshman, including starts against Austin Peay and Eastern Illinois
late in the season...was one of three freshmen to rank among the
team's Top 10 in total tackles, finishing his rookie season with 37
total stops...had career-best seven tackles at Murray State (Oct.
11) and followed the next week (Oct. 16) with six tackles against
UT Martin, earning him his first career start at Austin Peay (Oct.
25)...had four tackles against the Govs, then made seven at
Tennessee State...finished the year with six tackles against
Eastern Illinois as a starter...also blocked a kick against the
Panthers.
HIGH SCHOOL: As a senior at Antioch High School
under coach Mike Woodward, Kedrick had 93 total tackles, including
six tackles-for-loss, on his way to earning first-team all-region
and All-Metro honors...also had two quarterback sacks, caused one
fumble, recovered one fumble and had one interception, which he
returned for a touchdown...as a receiver, he made 14 catches for
231 yards and three touchdowns...a two-year starter, Towles had 70
tackles and five sacks as a junior.
