A multi-talented player, Julian may have found a home at tight end after lining up at three different positions in his first three years...after coming to Tech as a quarterback, he played one season as a wide receiver and made the move across the line of scrimmage to outside linebacker in 2009 spring drills...has too much potential to be on the sidelines, so coaching staff is working to find most effective use of his abilities...gaining a better knowledge of the system...great size.

At Tech (In 2009): Moved to outside linebacker in spring drills, he saw action in the season opener against Pikeville for his only action of the season.

(In 2008): Worked as a wide receiver, but did not see any action.

(In 2007): Was a redshirt quarterback in his first season on the Golden Eagle roster.

HIGH SCHOOL: Julian was a standout prep quarterback at Harriman High School...voted the region's Offensive MVP and first-team all-region...also earned first-team all-state recognition from the Tennessee Sportswriters Association.

PERSONAL: The son of Angelia Goins...born on February 7, 1989...full name is Julian Robert Goins...majoring in business.
