2024 (Junior – Lee University): Black took part in 44 of the team’s 57 games on the year, making 36 total starts… batted .313 with a .450 on-base percentage, .594 slugging percentage, and 1.044 OPS… totaled 40 hits, seven doubles, a triple, nine home runs, 37 runs, 37 RBI, 24 walks, and eight hit-by-pitches… finished 6-for-9 on stolen base tries… racked up a career-high seven RBI on a season-best three hits at Union University (Apr. 12), finishing a triple shy of the cycle… also totaled three hits with four RBI against Delta State (Apr. 19)… recorded his third three-hit game of the year with five RBI two long balls and a season-high four runs scored while finishing a double shy of the cycle versus Auburn Montgomery (May 16)… delivered multiple hits in 12 contests… drove in multiple runs seven times… led the team with four runners caught stealing.

2023 (R-Sophomore – Lee University): Black played in 46 of the team’s 55 games, making 44 starts… slashed .322/.406/.604 with a 1.010 OPS… amassed 48 hits, seven doubles, a triple, 11 home runs, 30 runs, 37 RBI, and 18 walks… finished 8-for-10 on stolen base attempts during the season… tallied a season-high four hits while finishing a triple shy of the cycle at Christian Brothers (Apr. 22)… also picked up four hits with three RBI and a season-high three runs scored vs. Shorter University (May 6)… finished a double shy of the cycle following a 3-for-3 day with three RBI at Christian Brothers (Apr. 23)… drove in a season-best four runs four times, including back-to-back games at Auburn Montgomery (Mar. 3 & 4)… went 3-for-4 in the second game against Auburn Montgomery (Mar. 4)… delivered his first career multi-homer game as part of a 3-for-5 day with a season-high three runs at Alabama Huntsville (Feb. 19)… hit single long balls in each of the next two contests as well… piled up 12 multi-hit efforts during the year… drove in multiple runs 10 times… threw out a team-high nine runners trying to steal and made just two errors behind the plate on the year.

2022 (Sophomore – Lee University): Black sat out the 2022 season as a redshirt due to injury.

2021 (Freshman – Lee University): Black competed in 41 of Lee’s 47 games as a true freshman, making 32 total starts… hit .257 with a .354 on-base percentage, .425 slugging percentage, and .779 OPS… totaled 29 hits, four doubles, a team-high three triples, three home runs, 22 runs, 19 RBI, and 14 walks… made his collegiate debut with a 2-for-3 day, season-highs of two doubles and four RBI, and a run scored against Union University (Feb. 6)… smashed his first career triple against Union (Feb. 7) on a full count off current Tech teammate Houston High for his first collegiate batter faced… tallied a season-high three hits with three RBI and two runs scored in the contest… also managed three hits at West Alabama (Apr. 18)… drove in four runs for a second time on the year at West Alabama (Apr. 17), dialing up a triple and his first collegiate home run… racked up multiple hits seven times… drove in multiple runs in five games… caught a team-high 10 runners trying to steal.

High School: Black competed as a catcher and pitcher at Bradley Central High School in Cleveland, Tenn. for head coach Travis Adams… led his team to a pair of region titles and a conference championship… in 2019, helped BCHS to the state finals.

Personal: Son of Sara and Scott Black… born in Cleveland, Tenn. on May 31, 2002… full name is Riley Black.

Academic: Pursuing a master’s in professional studies with a concentration in strategic leadership… earned his bachelor’s degree from Lee University in May 2024... selected to the GSC Honor Roll three times… named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll once.
