2023 (Freshman): Jinks played in 11 of Tech’s 55 games, making seven starts, including four in right field and three as the designated hitter… slashed .242/.342/.303… tallied eight hits, four runs, two doubles, one RBI, and five walks… made his collegiate debut as a pinch hitter against ETSU (Mar. 19)… earned his first career start in right field against Middle Tennessee (Mar. 21), picking up his first career hit… racked up season-highs of two doubles and three hits in five at-bats at Davidson (Mar. 24)… drove in his first run and collected two walks at Belmont (Apr. 4)… made one appearance on the mound out of the bullpen, finishing 0.1 innings against UT Martin (Apr. 22).

High School: Jinks was a two-sport athlete at Franklin County High School in Carnesville, Ga., serving as a pitcher and utility player for head baseball coach David Shelly for four years and a tight end and linebacker for head football coach Paul Sutherland for two years… finished his career with a 20-2 record, 1.70 ERA, 208 strikeouts, and just 43 walks in 116.2 innings on the hill… also tallied a .324 batting average and 53 doubles as a third baseman in his career… named 2021 GBCA Class 3A Player of the Year and 2021 Region Pitcher of the Year… collected Class 3A All-State First Team accolades as a junior and senior… picked up All-Region First Team honors in both 2021 and 2022… selected to participate in the 2022 GDC Senior All-Star Game on the Northeast Team at Mercer University… collected Preseason All-Southeast Region Honorable Mention honors from Perfect Game in 2021 and 2022.

Personal: Son of Vanessa and Brett Jinks... born in Royston, Ga. on June 24, 2003... full name is Avery Kayne Jinks… mother, Vanessa, played basketball at Emmanuel College for four years… father, Brett, played basketball at Roane State for one season… older sister, KJ, is a junior outfielder on the softball team at Reinhardt University.

Academic: Majoring in finance… named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll once.
