2023 (Junior): Guardino tied for third on the Golden Eagles with 18 appearances in his first season in Cookeville, making two starts as well… finished the season 1-1 with a 7.33 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 43.0 innings… allowed 35 earned runs, 55 hits, and 33 walks… made his Tech debut with 2.2 innings out of the bullpen against Bowling Green (Feb. 19), allowing just one, unearned run while fanning three batters… turned in 4.0 innings of scoreless work for his longest relief effort of the year in the first game of a doubleheader with North Alabama (Mar. 11), holding the Lions without a hit… picked up his first win with two innings of work out of the pen at Queens (Mar. 4)… covered 5.0 innings in his first start of the season at Southeast Missouri (Apr. 15)… punched out a season-high five batters in 3.2 innings at Morehead State (Apr. 1)… spun 1.1 innings of scoreless ball in relief at Kentucky (May 9)… had four outings without allowing a run and five with no earned runs surrendered… struck out three or more batters six times.

2022 (Sophomore – Santa Barbara City College): Guardino appeared in 10 games with one start on the mound for Santa Barbara City College before missing the second half of the season due to a wrist injury… compiled a 1-1 record with two saves and a 4.22 ERA… tied for the team lead in saves… totaled nine strikeouts in 10.2 innings of work… allowed five earned runs, nine hits, and nine walks… picked up the win in his first game of the year after striking out a season-high three batters in 1.0 inning of work against Chaffey College (Jan. 29)… tossed a season-long 3.0 innings with a pair of punch outs at Golden West College (Feb. 5)… picked up his first career save after recording one out at Cerro Coso CC (Feb. 17)… notched another save with two K’s in 1.0 inning on the hill at Oxnard College (Feb. 24)… made his final appearance of the year with 1.0 inning of scoreless work out of the pen in a win at Ventura College (Mar. 12)…. struck out multiple batters three times.

2021 (Freshman – Spartanburg Methodist College*): Guardino made 12 appearances, including three starts as a freshman at Spartanburg Methodist... finished the year 3-1 with a 6.12 ERA… racked up 22 strikeouts in 25.0 innings of work… allowed 17 earned runs, 21 hits, and 19 walks… made his collegiate debut against Columbia International (Feb. 16), tossing 1.0 inning… completed 2.0 scoreless innings with his first career strikeout against Chattahoochee Valley CC (Feb. 20)… made his first career start with 3.1 innings on the hill against Cleveland CC (Mar. 2)… earned his first win following 1.1 innings out of the bullpen at Limestone (Mar. 24)… turned in his best outing of the year against Columbia International (Apr. 14), racking up a season-high six strikeouts and a win in 5.0 innings of scoreless work… followed it up with another win after tossing 5.0 innings with five punch outs against Patrick & Henry CC (Apr. 21)… pitched more than 1.0 inning seven times… fanned multiple batters in six games.

2020 (Freshman – Cuesta College): Guardino did not participate for Cuesta College during 2020 before the remainder of the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

High School: Guardino was a two-sport athlete at Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta, Calif., playing baseball for head coach George Hedricks and basketball for head coach Joe Zamora… as a senior, made 10 appearances with three starts while turning in a 1-0 record, 2.45 ERA, and 21 strikeouts… held batters to a .238 batting average.

Personal: Son of Karen and John Guardino… born in Santa Barbara, Calif. on December 12, 2000… full name is Andrew John Guardino… father, John, played baseball at North Texas before the program was discontinued following the 1988 season…older brother, Ryan, was a member of the Golden Eagle baseball team in 2022, smashing 16 home runs and winning OVC Player of the Week twice and National Player of the Week once, and was a graduate outfielder for Alabama in 2023.

Academic: Majoring in interdisciplinary studies… named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll twice.
