Marc Burnett was one of Tech's top basketball players from 1977-82, lettering four years and serving as team captain for an NCAA record five seasons, including a redshirt season. He was a two-time winner of Tech's prestigious Sam Harley Lynn Award. He won the team's Best Defensive Player Award, the Top Assists Award, and the Free Throw Award which he won twice. His career yielded 1,023 points. Following his playing career, he served one year as graduate assistant coach of the Golden Eagles before taking an administrative internship at the University.
