Jerilynn Harper, one of the most decorated basketball players of all time, was Tech's first All-American, conference Player of the Year, Athlete of the Year, and Scholar-Athlete. Her three-year career at Tech culminated in "Jerilynn Harper Night" in 1982, in which the community and University recognized her long list of accomplishments, and her jersey (30) was retired. She averaged 29.7 points per game and was named Kodak All-America. With 1,011 points, she is the only Tech basketball player to top 1,000 points in a single season. She was named OVC Player and Athlete of the Year.
