Cody Dodd wins Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 21

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — After a strong weekend performance, senior Tennessee Tech volleyball player Cody Dodd has been named the Sept. 21 Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

The Golden Eagles went 1-2 on the weekend hosting their first home opener of the season at the Golden Eagle Invitational presented by Hampton Inn. Dodd led Tech in kills in all three matches, hitting 25 of her 48 total kills in the Golden Eagles' win over Western Carolina. Dodd was named to the Golden Eagle Invitational All-Tournament Team, and didn't hit below a .233 hitting percentage all weekend. Dodd continues to lead Tech in points and posted double-doubles in two out of the three matches.

Dodd collected 59 points and contributed nine service aces, 26 digs and four blocks over the weekend. Dodd continues to serve as a key player on the Golden Eagles team and leads the way for her underclassmen teammates. Thus far this season, Dodd has collected five double-doubles, contributed 217.5 points and led the team with 183 kills. Dodd also leads the Golden Eagles in service aces (19) and overall hitting percentage (.234).

Tech begins regular season conference matches on Friday-Saturday when they hit the road to compete against out-of-state opponents of Eastern Illinois University and Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
