Golden Eagles to play at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail course

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech will look to build on momentum from a strong third-place finish at the Grover Page Classic two weeks ago when it returns to action at the North Alabama Spring Classic on Monday and Tuesday in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

The tournament will be hosted by North Alabama and will be held at Fighting Joe Course at The Shoals, part of Alabama’s acclaimed Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

The tournament will be the third of Tech’s spring season. The Golden Eagles rebounded from a tough opener at the Samford Intercollegiate with a strong showing at UT Martin’s Grover Page Classic. Greg Kitts led the Golden Eagles with a 10th-place individual finish, posting a 76-73-73=222.

The Golden Eagles will take five players to the event – Kitts, Tyler Cassetty, Travis Ramsey, Mason Griffin and Lee Maxwell. Kitts currently owns the team’s best average at 73.8 while Cassetty follows closely behind at 74.4 for the season.

The North Alabama Spring Classic begins with two 18-hole rounds on Monday and concludes with a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
