CHICAGO, Ill. - The Tennessee Tech men's basketball team will look to bounce back against Loyola Chicago Wednesday night, after suffering its first loss of the season against Evansville last Tuesday evening.

Setting the Stage
The Golden Eagles will look to avoid a two-game losing streak as it heads into the Second City with a match-up against the Ramblers. Loyola Chicago owns a 3-1 series lead over Tech, however, the Golden Eagles won the most recent meeting 87-76 in Cookeville back in 2001-02.

This game marks the 50th anniversary of the first meeting between the two programs. It also marks the 50th anniversary of the last time the Golden Eagles made the NCAA Tournament. The Ramblers defeated Tech 111-42 in the inaugural game in 1962-63, and followed that up with two more victories before eventually falling in 2001-02.

Senior forward Ben Averkamp leads the Ramblers' attack, averaging 17.7 points per contest while pulling down 7.0 rebounds per game. The Germantown, Wis. native is averaging a team-high 30.3 minutes per game.

Loyola Chicago's defense is allowing its opponents to score just 55.3 points per game this season, something that will be sure to test the Golden Eagles' potent offensive attack. Tech is averaging over 70.0 points per contest on offense and will look to continue its success in Chicago.

The Golden Eagles will combat the defense of the Ramblers with an expected improved performance from senior guard Jud Dillard, who despite scoring a season-low nine points and recording a career-low zero rebounds agains Evansville, still leads the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring with 23.3 points per game. He also ranks sixth in the OVC in rebounding with 7.8 per contest, fourth in the conference in field goal percentage with a .576 clip and first with an incredible 4.0 assist to turnover ratio.

Also standing out for Tech this season has been junior forward Dennis Ogbe. He has three games with double-digit scoring, including leading TTU with 10 points against Evansville. The Munich, Germany native leads the OVC in field goal percentage, shooting an impressive 68.2% from the field.
