COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Plans are underway for a new season of The Watson Brown Show, presented by IWC Cash & Carry. The show will air Wednesdays at 5 p.m. on WCTE TV, and be available on other outlets such as the OVC Digital Network.

Tech football fans throughout the region will also have the opportunity to ask Brown questions via Twitter by sending them to @TTUGoldenEagles.

During the 30-minute show, Brown will sit down with local sports personality Buddy Pearson and recap the previous week's game, show highlights and game film, preview the upcoming opponent, and answer questions from fans' tweets. Special features that were introduced last year include a segment that spotlights Golden Eagle Student-Athletes doing community service projects, a weekly interview that brings out the personalities of Golden Eagle players, and a look inside several diverse aspects of the football program.

A new feature, called "Where have they landed" will track down former Golden Eagles with in-depth interviews, highlights and information to bring fans up-to-date on their whereabouts. Some of the segmets will feature former players Frank Omiyale, Larry Schreiber, and Jim Youngblood, as well as former Tech coach Mike Smith, and a variety of other popular figures from past years in Tech Athletics.

The premier episode will be on Wednesday, Aug. 28, as the Golden Eagles prepare to open the season at home against Cumberland University on Thursday night, Aug. 29.

WCTE is the PBS station for the Upper Cumberland, and can be seen in the Nashville market on Dish and DirectTV. The show will also be available from Charter Communications, and on the Internet via TTUsports.com, the OVC Digital Network, and on the Tech Athletics YouTube channel.

"We are thrilled that IWC Cash & Carry returns as the presenting sponsor, allowing us to air The Watson Brown Show during the 2013 season," said Mark Wilson, TTU Director of Athletics. "The Watson Brown Show has proven to be popular with fans throughout the Upper Cumberland and Metro Nashville regions in the past, and last year the show took some new directions that proved to be very popular. We plan to continue to build on that success."

Brown, a Cookeville native, is in his seventh season as Tennessee Tech's head football coach. He is in his 29th season as a head football coach, and his 41st season in college coaching overall.

The program will be produced by Matt Wagner, Video Productions Coordinator in the TTU Sports Information Department.
