COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech football team will open its Ohio Valley Conference schedule in style Saturday evening, as the Golden Eagles will host its annual Football Legends Night as in-state rival Tennessee State travels to Cookeville for a 7 p.m. CDT tilt.

All former players are invited to participate, and are being asked to contact Kevin Bostian for details. Halftime of the contest will feature a special presentation to recognize the 60th anniversary of the 1953 OVC championshiop team as well as the 55th anniversary of the 1958 OVC conference champions.

The activities begin at 4 p.m. with a special football alumni tailgate event under the large tent in the 98.5 Kiss FM Tailgate Park.

"We've had a good response from former players," said Bostian, TTU Associate Athletic Director for Development, "but there are still many players throughout the region who we would love to hear from, and we hope they will contact us and plan to attend."

The Golden Eagle volleyball team will host its Legends Weekend beginning on Sept. 27 and running through Sept. 28.

The Tennessee Tech baseball and tennis teams will also host alumni events in October.
