Tennessee Tech Baseball Weekend Preview (3/14)
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team continues its five-game road stretch with a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series at in-state rival Austin Peay this weekend, kicking off action Friday evening at Raymond C. Hand Park at 6:00 p.m. CT.
Game two of the series is slated for a 1:00 p.m. first pitch on Saturday while the series finale will commence with another 1:00 p.m. start on Sunday. All three games are currently scheduled to be streamed live on ESPN+.
Tech enters the weekend having won seven of its past nine contests. The Golden Eagles claimed the series, 2-1, over SIUE this past weekend to open OVC play, scoring 27 runs in three games.
Sophomore slugger Jason Hinchman, the league's reigning player of the week, has been on a tear over the past six games, slashing .500/.577/1.591 with seven home runs, 16 RBI, three doubles and 13 runs scored. On Tuesday, against visiting Valparaiso, the first baseman tied the Golden Eagle single-game record for home runs with three in the contest.
