COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Senior outfielder Kevin Strohschein collected his first of what is sure to be many preseason accolades Monday afternoon, earning a spot on the 2019 Collegiate Baseball Pre-Season All-American First Team.

Last season, serving as the Golden Eagle designated hitter, Strohschein helped lead Tech to the most successful season in both school and Ohio Valley Conference history, including 53 wins and the NCAA Oxford Regional title.

The McDonough, Ga. native turned in a spectacular junior campaign, becoming the first Tech player to win his second OVC Player of the Year honor. He also took home five All-American honors and was named a semifinalist for both the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy.

Strohschein hit an impressive .375 with 69 runs, 106 hits, 18 doubles, 18 home runs, 67 RBI and a .650 slugging percentage. He became the first player in OVC history to record three seasons with at least 60 RBI, three seasons with at least 75 hits and three seasons with at least 55 runs scored. He is also just the fourth player in league history (and second in school history) to record three seasons with at least 14 home runs.
