Tech to wrap up fall season with match play at French Broad Collegiate

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team closes out its fall campaign with a unique trip to Arden, N.C. for the French Broad Collegiate. The Golden Eagles will compete with three other programs in a match-play event at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. 

FRENCH BROAD COLLEGIATE: Nov. 6-7, 2022 – 36 holes (18 Sunday, 18 Monday), located at the par-71, 5,947-yard The Cliffs at Walnut Cove in Arden, N.C. Play will begin with Sunday morning's first round, featuring tee times beginning at 9:00 a.m. CT. The second round tees off at 9:00 a.m. again on Monday. 

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are freshman Kaydi Rhodes, senior Gittle Sciolis, junior Ainsley Simms, sophomore Reagan Stuke, senior Elisabeth Toennessen, and senior Katrine Toennessen

THE COMPETITION: The four-team field consists of host UNC Asheville, as well as Gardner-Webb, Tennessee Tech, and USC Upstate. 

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH AMANDA SMITH: "This is such a great event to close out the fall season. UNC Asheville and the staff at Walnut Cove are phenomenal. We have never played in a match-play competition like this before. We have been practicing all week for this type of format, so the ladies couldn't be more excited to go out and compete."
