COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team hosts Eastern Illinois Monday night in a 7 p.m. CT showdown. This is the second game of their two-game homestand.

The Golden Eagles are 4-2 at home this season, and this is just their second multi-game homestand of the season. The first was back in December when they dropped two tight games, decided by a combined seven points to Memphis and Florida International.

Tech is also looking to put together its first winning streak of the season as they are coming off of a 72-66 win over SIU Edwardsville. A well-balanced offense helped the Golden Eagles move to 2-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference as five different players scored double-digits, including two double-doubles from junior Candace Parson, 12 points and 10 boards, and sophomore Mariah Dean who dropped 10 points and a career-best 10 boards.

EIU on the other hand was unable to recuperate as Jacksonville State broke open a close game with a 14-2 run midway through the first half as the Gamecocks knocked off Eastern Illinois, 61-46 in the Panthers last game. EIU was attempting to get over the .500 mark for the third time this season and are now 0-3 in those games. Junior forward Sabina Oroszova posted her sixth straight double-double leading EIU with 16 points and 13 rebounds. EIU was only able to force five JSU turnovers while the Panthers turned it over 14 times leading to 12 Gamecock points. Oroszova leads the Panthers on the season with 18.3 points points per game and 10.4 rebounds per contest.

Tennessee Tech will play the Panthers for the 38th time on Monday night and the Golden Eagles lead the all-time series 23-14. However, EIU won last year's meeting in Charleston, 89-79, as the two teams have split the last four games including an OVC Tournament semifinal game in 2012 that TTU won in overtime. In last season's outing, junior Diamond Henderson dropped 28 points on the Panthers despite the loss.

Tickets for Monday's game as well as season tickets are available by calling the TTU ticket office at (931) 372-3940.
