COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team returns to their road stretch of games this weekend as they head to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete in the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout.

While in Las Vegas, the Golden Eagles will take on Marquette Friday at 4:30 p.m. CT, and on Saturday they will play Ball State at 2 p.m.

The Golden Eagles have never faced either of these two teams before. Tech will be facing their second Mid-American Conference school in Ball State, the first being Akron (L, 118-71).

The Golden Eagles have played in Las Vegas in six different holiday tournaments in the past, the most recent being the Las Vegas Desert Classic during the 05-06 season. Tech has a 6-6 record in tournaments in Sin City.

The Golden Eagles are currently 2-2, 0-2 on the road, and winning twice at the Eblen Center. The South Point Thanksgiving Shootout games will be the first neutral site games of the season.

They will look to build off their most recent win over Valparaiso. Freshman Hannah Goolsby finished with 21 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals as she helped clinch a 84-78 win at home over Valparaiso. Her late heroics were set up by junior Diamond Henderson, who tied her career-high with 31 points and keyed the Golden Eagles over the final four minutes. She scored 12 of Tech's 14 points – including 10 straight -- during a critical stretch in which the Golden Eagles were able to keep the hot-shooting Crusaders from pulling away. Henderson finished with 31 points, six assists and two steals. T'Keyah Williams also posted a career-high, grabbing 15 rebounds to carry the Golden Eagles to a 43-30 advantage on the boards.

The games will be available on the radio on 106.1 The Eagle as Kevin Bostian calls the games, and full recaps will be available on TTUsports.com.
