COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's and women's basketball teams continued their long-standing traditions of helping out the community over the weekend, assisting at the Algood Elementary School Tomahawk Trot.
Several members of both Golden Eagle squads were present and made their presence felt. The players assisted with the water station, filling cups and coolers for the children, much like you might see in a marathon or other long-distance running events.
Many players also joined in on the action, jogging with the students and giving encouraging words of determination and perseverance.
Algood Elementary uses the Tomahawk Trot as its main fundraiser each year, having the children collect pledges from parents and family friends for walking/jogging a certain amount of time.
