COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A staple in the Tennessee Tech softball team's run to the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship, the Tech Athletics hospitality tent is making the trip down south with the Golden Eagles to the Auburn Regional of the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
Tech alumni and fans are invited to take part in the festivities, as a gold TTU tent will be open two hours prior to each Golden Eagle game, and will feature complimentary food and beverages for all to enjoy. The intended location of the tent will be right across the main entrance of Jane B. Moore Field.
Tech will clash with Auburn in the region's second game of the day on Friday, going up against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. CT. South Alabama and Chattanooga will kick off the field of four with a 3 p.m. showdown. Gates will open at 1:30.
A Golden Eagle win in the double-elimination format against the SEC Tournament champion would move them into the winner's bracket final against the USA-UTC victor on Saturday at 12 p.m. A TTU loss in the opening day would push them to a Saturday, 2:30 p.m. elimination-game against the South Alabama-Chattanooga loser.
The Regional is slated to last through Sunday.
Fans who are not able to get to the games can watch all the action free of charge via ESPN3, or can listen live on FM 107.7 WHUB and AM 1400 The Hub with Dylan Vazzano providing the play-by-play for each TTU game.
