COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Just four weeks remain before the Tennessee Tech men's golf team returns to the links for the spring as Golden Eagle head coach Polk Brown officially announced the slate for the second half of the season.

Tech will compete in six events in the spring, kicking things off at the Invitational at Savannah Harbor February 16-17 in Savannah, Ga. The event will be hosted by William & Mary at The Club at Savannah Harbor.

"We're looking forward to getting back after it this semester with the first tournament just a month away," Brown said. "The schedule is virtually the same as it has been the last few years, with the exception of the addition of Wofford's event."

That exception comes April 1-2 at the Coca Cola Invitational at the Country Club of Spartanburg. The first-time event for Tech will be hosted by Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C.

"If you look through the schedule, there are at least three or four events where we traditionally give ourselves chances to win the event or have actually won the event," Brown explained. "We've won at Tennessee State in the past. We've been successful in our tournament and have had multiple chances to win at UT Martin."

Tech will play at UT Martin's event, the Grover Page Classic, from March 11-12 at Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tenn. They will follow it up by hosting the seventh annual Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn. The Golden Eagles wrap up the regular season portion of the schedule with a trip to Old Hickory, Tenn. for Tennessee State's Big Blue Intercollegiate April 8-9.

The Ohio Valley Conference Championships will commence April 21-23 at the Fighting Joe Course at The Shoals, part of the Robert Trent Jones Trail in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

"I think the guys put together a pretty successful fall, statistically, and we're looking to become more and more competitive as we head into conference at the end of April," Brown said. "The OVC has a lot of parity and we certainly believe that if we play some solid golf this spring and generate some momentum, we will give ourselves a great chance at conference."
