COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team gets back to action with a trip to Madison, Ill. for the two-day Derek Dolenc Invitational hosted by SIUE at Gateway National Golf Links.

LIVE STATS

DEREK DOLENC INVITATIONAL: Sept. 24-25, 2018 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-71, 7,092-yard Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Ill. Action will start with shotgun starts each day at 8:15 a.m. CT.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are sophomore Will Brooks, sophomore Bracton Womack, freshman Chance Taylor, freshman Bryce Beeler and junior Cameron Yeary.

THE COMPETITION: The 17-team field consists of host SIUE, as well as Bradley, Creighton, DePaul, Drake, Eastern Illinois, Iowa Western, Loyola, Missouri State, Murray State, Northern Iowa, Omaha, Tennessee Tech, UT Martin, Valparaiso, Weber State and Western Illinois.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "We're happy to have the opportunity to return to the Derek Dolenc Invitational after not going last year. Gateway National is a spectacular course; more of a links-style course that tends to have more trouble off the tee. I know the guys are excited for the challenge and ready to go attack."

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Just one of Tech's participating golfers took part in the team's last trip to Madison, Ill., junior Cameron Yeary. Brooks and Womack finished last season as Tech's top-two scoring average leaders while Taylor and Beeler will make their collegiate debuts this week.
